Cosmo: My first impression of the last issue was that it was rather cluttered. Morrison just kept throwing all these characters and Earths at me in rapid succession. The further I read though, the less this bothered me. I stepped back a little and saw that the chaos may have been part of his point. In fact, I think in a way, this issue is a love letter to the disorganization of a Multiverse. The villain is the one who wants to sweep in and destroy the diversity of characters. He wants to “gentrify” the DCU.

It feels as if the majority of their series was a love letter to all that was great & unique about comics and the book ends, with this issue in particular, feel like it’s pointing to how a corporate mentality is killing what’s best about comics
