Indubitable Issues and Pull List (05/04/16)

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Cosmo’s Recommendations …
BeastsOfBurdenBeast Of Burden (One Shot)
“Evan Dorkin & Jill Thompson’s stellar series about dogs and cats protecting their town from paranormal threats is back with a one-shot tale. Do you like horror, adorable animals and/or beautiful art? Then What the Cat Dragged In definitely needs to be on your pull list . . . “

GuardiansOmniGuardians of the Galaxy Omnibus

“Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning’s cosmic run is one of the best things to come out of the House of Ideas these past 15 years. Marvel is collecting the heart of that run (their Guardians of the Galaxy series) together in one volume. You also get their outstanding Thanos Imperative series which provides the emotional climax to the whole endeavor. An omnibus that will be well worth it . . . “

 Tyler’s Recommendations
BlackWidow3Black Widow #3
“If you’re a fan of great comics–which you should be–you’re already picking this up, but I just wanted to gush about Chris Samnee a bit, because I’m still miffed he got no love from the Eisners. Samnee, along with colorist Matt Wilson put down some of the best sequential storytelling every issue. From layout, to panel progression, to color palette, it just doesn’t get better. I’m also very much digging the story they’re setting up with Natasha, it’s Bourne meets Bond, and I can’t wait to see where this team takes it.”

RebelsTPRebels TP Vol. 1
“Brian Wood and Andrea Mutti’s tale of frontiersman turned revolutionary soldiers, fighting a very organized British army is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed every issue, and recommend it to anyone who digs historical/war comics. Wood focuses on the average men and women, caught up in a time of individual strife and sacrifice for the betterment of this country and future generations. It’s a story well worth your time.”

 Dean’s Recommendation…
GothamCentralOmniGotham Central Omnibus
“If you haven’t read this terrific series by Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka and Michael Lark I am envious you get to enjoy it for the first time in this all encompassing hardcover. If you are a long time fan of the series then this is a must have on the shelf.”

As I’m sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.
