Indubitable Issues and Pull List (11/08/17)

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Josh’s Recommendation…
Moon Knight #188
“New series, new team, new direction. Marc Spectre has a new lease on life without Khonshu whispering in his ear, but he faces familiar foes all the same. The kind covered in hair, and full of teeth…”

Dean’s Recommendation…
Mister Miracle #4
“The first 3 issues were each selected as the week’s finest comic here at NBC! Do you really want to miss this?”

As we’re sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.

  1. Detective Comics #968
Half Past Danger II Dead To Reichs #3 (of 5) Cvr A Mooney (C
Harbinger Renegade #0 Cvr A Clayton
    Harrow County #27
Mister Miracle #4 (of 12) (MR)
Royal City #7 Cvr A Lemire (MR)

Half Past Danger righted itself last issue after a lackluster issue 1. Detective Comics #967 was the best issue of that in a while. I like the idealistic youth vs the jaded elder angle. It’s too often true.

  2. Holy crap was Thor great. It was! Every scene with Thor and Hulk or Banner and Hulk is great. These Marvel movies keep getting better. Really good use of music like in Guardians.

I need to get a bumper sticker that says “Keep the Hulk dumb”.

  3. BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS SCRIPT FOR THE QUESTION #1

Page 1, Panel 1: A close up of The Question.

QUESTION: So this is the guy?

Page 1, Panel 2: A close up of Harvey Bullock.

    BULLOCK: This is the guy.

Page 1, Panel 3: A close up of The Question.

    QUESTION: This guy? Right here?

Page 1, Panel 4: A close up of Harvey Bullock.

    BULLOCK: Yeah. That guy.

Page 1, Panel 5: A close up of The Question.

QUESTION: This guy? Wearing the expensive suit and cheap sandals?

Page 1, Panel 6: A close up of Harvey Bullock.

BULLOCK: Yeah. Real fashion conscious hipster. That guy.

  4. Most funny thing I’ve heard today. Actor Ricky Shroder, when asked who is better between Emanuel Lewis (Webster) and Gary Coleman (Different Strokes) replyed that he has an Emanuel Lewis story. Apparently when Shroder was 14 he met Lewis and thought that Lewis was a 4 year old. He then proceeded to bounce Lewis on his knee (playing horsey Shroder called it). Lewis laughed and giggled. Afterwards somebody told Shroder that Lewis was actually the same age as Shroder. Ha!

  5. Just read the first few issues of 4 Kids Walk into a Bank and it just may be my favorite comic of the year. Very impressive; I love the humor. I see a movie adaption in its future. I also read the first few issues of Baby Teeth. Very good dialogue and good pacing, it’s also one of the best comics I’ve read in recent memory. Baby Teeth takes a familiar concept and presents it in a fresh way… I’m thinking this could be filmed as well. Thanks Dean and Reed.

    1. No problem! 4 Kids trade just hit comic shops, I’m thinking this is probably going to be my 2017 Christmas gift all my friends get from me.

        1. Just came back from the comic shop and they only had one trade of 4 Kids. I guess it will only be a merry Christmas for one of my friends this year. 😉
