Indubitable Issues and Pull List (01/03/18)

LOOKING FOR BOOKS TO BUY THIS WEEK?

LOOK NO FURTHER.

HERE ARE SOME ISSUES THAT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Tyler’s Recommendations…
Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles #1
“Mark Russell returns with another Hanna-Barbera miniseries! A period piece set in 1950’s NYC, dealing with the Red Scare and cold war paranoia, Russell is providing more depth and nuance than anyone ever thought possible for a comic starring a pink lion named Snagglepuss.”

Josh’s Recommendation…
Iron Fist #76
“Danny Rand is finally getting a chance to return to K’un Lun to reclaim his title as their champion and the chi of Shou Lao. A group of the city’s exiles is closing in on it though, and Danny must defeat them all to save his home…”

Dean’s Recommendations…
Batman #38
“I don’t really know why I keep putting this up here. You must know by now every issue of Batman is a must read. Well, in case you have been living in a cave for the last two years with no wifi or amazon prime I must give you this message:
Welcome back to the world of comics; Tom King rules all.”

Rogue And Gambit #1
“I love what Thompson has done with Kate Bishop, one of my favorite marvel characters. This week we get to see her take on Rogue, quite possibly my favorite X-Men when used correctly. I have high hopes for this one.”

As we’re sure you all have noticed, the pull list page is no longer present. We here at Nothing But Comics have decided to combine this weekly with the discussion of which comics we are all buying for the week. Included below is the link of our personal favorite product guide. Don’t worry, this is not an advertisement; the website is not paying us anything to push it (not that we’d object!). Comic List just happens to be totally awesome. So check out that massive list and then come on back here to let us know what you are buying.

  1. Don’t eat Romaine lettuce… just a heads up.

    https://www.consumerreports.org/food-safety/avoid-romaine-lettuce-for-now/

Canada has been warned and we haven’t. We aren’t protected here. In order to do recalls or issue specific warnings the FDA has to match exact bacterial strains from farms and factories with unopened packages of sick patients. Their hands are tied… just a mind boggling example… of how safe we are not… Salmonella is legally part of chicken (thanks to massive amounts of industry lobbyists dictating law). I shit you not. Look at PBS documentaries.

Protect yourself because nobody else will.

      1. Ya, I had a tuna salad at Panera bread that I removed the Romaine from (after I posted this) when I really should have just not eaten the sandwich. It’s a gamble. I was at the supermarket today and they had a ton of it and people have died in my state so… This is going to sound funny (because it is)… but I used to brag about how good my immune system is… karma is a bitch though. There is growing evidence that many people that don’t die of food poisoning also don’t fully recover. Don’t be one of those people. Romaine lettuce is the most yummy lettuce though. If you watch some of the PBS documentaries on this problem your head will explode… like mine did. The people that sell us food make the food safety laws.
