In JLA/Doom Patrol Special #1, the Young Animal/DC Milk Wars crossover event, Larry Trainor founded DC Comics in a parallel life while fighting the Justice League as Negative Man. This is not the strangest thing to happen in JLA/Doom Patrol by a wide margin. PENNY POTTER, COMIC BOOK DETECTIVE” – the words were written in bright red ink on the manila envelope that was slid under Penny’s door.

Penny verified that no one was standing outside her office. The after-hours hallway was deserted so she closed the door, then picked up the envelope and walked to her desk. She shook the envelope, and with a hunch about its contents, opened it.  Sure enough, it was a comic book, but not one she had seen before.
