Tyler’s Recommendation…
Spy Seal #1
“Rich Tommaso dives into the world of espionage adventure comics. Marketed as an homage of sorts to classic Tin Tin, but with anthropomorphic characters working for MI-6. Tommaso has a style all his own, but with this comic the visual link to Herge is clear. A unique voice in contemporary comics, Rich Tommaso’s work is something everyone should check out”

This Week’s Finest: Nightwing #26

Nightwing26

By Tim Seeley, Javier Fernandez, Chris Sotomayor, Carlos M. Mangual

Once again I find myself in awe of this series. I continue to have barely any interest in Batman, or any of the other Bat-titles, but Dick Grayson’s solo adventures have held my interest for well over three years now. In that time, Tim Seely (with co-writing credit to Tom King on Grayson) has built an impressive tapestry around Richard Grayson. It’s only now that things start to come full circle.  Continue reading This Week’s Finest: Nightwing #26

Josh’s Recommendation …
tarzanontheplanetoftheapes1Tarzan and the Planet of the Apes #1
“I think the strangest crossover this year, and that’s saying something, is this book. I’m a sucker for both Tarzan and PotA stories though, so I have to see what the top-notch talent have in store for such two distinct but classic properties.”

Cosmo’s Recommendations …
Descender14Descender #14
“A little over a year since debuting to great acclaim, Jeff Lemire & Dustin Nguyen’s science-fiction Image series continues to be as good as it ever was with sharp writing and beautiful art. The current arc has been consisting of one-and-done tales spotlighting the background of various cast members. Up this week? Bandit, the pet-bot. Sounds like another winner to me . . .”

JupitersLegacy2Jupiter’s Legacy Volume 2 #2
“Is it weird that this book is called volume 2 #2? Yes. But try not to let that discourage you from buying this fantastic comic. It took a long time for Jupiter’s Legacy to return, but it is back and issue #1 was everything you want it to be. It was the best comic of the week and I’m fully expecting this one to follow that trend.”
