In honor of Wonder Woman’s solo film debut this weekend, DC has proclaimed Saturday, June 3rd Wonder Woman Day. Created 76 years ago by William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peter as both a superheroine and symbol for women’s equality, Diana has had an eventful history. Her legacy is a rich one, which the staff of Nothing But Comics have often revisited. The weather might suggest otherwise, but December has arrived and with it the inevitable year’s end lists. Luckily, at Nothing But Comics, we’re quite fond of year’s end lists. Our first group Top Ten will arrive tomorrow, but first I offer up my annual look back at some of the most memorable character from 2016.
All entries are listed alphabetically. For simplicity sake, characters without code names are listed by first name.

“Brubaker, Phillps, and Breitweiser are back with another installment of their newest gem. Very different than previous books from this team, but filled with the compelling characters and gorgeous art we’ve all come expect. Everyone interested in great comics should be picking this up.”
When I finished Grant Morrison’s run on Action Comics, I was struck by how little has been used (or perhaps more appropriately explained) from Morrison’s eighteen issues.
